Aaron Braithwaite has completed a move to Cleethorpes Town from Gainsborough Trinity. The midfielder joins on a dual registration basis, maintaining his ties with Scunthorpe United.
The former Grimsby Town academy product has made the switch to the Owls in a bid to secure more regular playing time. Braithwaite, who has been on the fringes at Gainsborough, will be hoping to make an immediate impact at his new club.
Cleethorpes Town manager Craig Rouse expressed his delight at securing Braithwaite’s services: “He’s a player who oozes quality and can impact games with his quality on the ball. He’s a confident lad who will play higher up the pyramid, so we will do our upmost to help unlock his talent.
Despite the move, Braithwaite’s connection with Scunthorpe United remains intact. The player will continue to train with the Iron during the week, benefiting from their professional setup while gaining valuable match experience with Cleethorpes Town.
Braithwaite could make his debut for Cleethorpes Town next weekend when they face Emley Town in the Northern Premier League Division One East.
