Bishop confirms Iron exit

Iron midfielder Neal Bishop has confirmed that he is set to leave Scunthorpe United this summer, via social media.

The combative midfielder wrote on Instagram: “Thoroughly enjoyed the last four years at Scunthorpe.

“Just gutted we couldn’t get over the line in the last two seasons and get that promotion.

“All the very best for the future”.

    The best breaker up of play I can recall – and not just a heavy but he had a real touch of class. In my top 6 favourites of all time.
    League Two clubs will be queuing up – and a fair few League One, I’d guess. (Remember how long Tony Ford played on.)
    The guy is rarely injured and never shirked a tackle in his entire career
    Has he simply been released – or has he got other fish to fry?
