Notts County have confirmed the signing of Scunthorpe United forward Kyle Wootton on a season-long loan.
The National League side fought off competition from a League Two club for his services and the Magpies’ manager Neal Ardley was delighted to have secured one of his main transfer targets.
Ardley said: “Our intention is to use him as a target man, but he can do more. He’s mobile.
“When we did our work in the summer, he was one we really liked but we have had to stay patient – and that has eventually won through.
“Thanks to Scunthorpe – they’ve been very open with us and that’s all you can ask for.
“He’s a very young lad and there’s loads I want to work on him with, but I believe he’ll score and create goals.
Wootton, who started in the Iron’s 1-0 defeat at Macclesfield last weekend added: “There were teams in League Two interested but I felt this was the right move for me because of the manager and how wanted he made me feel.”
